In this video you will learn how to create a sub site.
Or listen how to create a sub site on Soundcloud.
let me go ahead and create, I'll show you some more settings while you're creating a sub site. Go to site preferences and when you create a new subsite, the first option we saw giving title, description and the URL you want to using, and we've spoken about all of the templates you want to use it, based on the criteria of the application you want to build. The next one is the permissions. This is what we were talking about. I can use same permissions as a parent, because if you see the diagram here, the hierarchy, each subsite is using its parent [inaudible]. So that is one of the base permissions, but if I don't want then I can always go ahead and select unique permissions, so let's call this one as Department 2 and I'm going to use unique permissions. Well, I can define the navigation whether I want to use similar kind of navigation to the parent, or if I don't want then I can just say, "No." So if we go ahead and click on Create Here, we'll see what happened to the permissions. See this is the other site so if I go to site settings. Site permissions, this is basically inheriting permissions from the parent. Okay. This website's inherited from the parent. And it created Department 2 subsite. Okay, go to site settings, site permissions, you see that? This has unique permissions, it has its own members, own owners, own visitors. So In this case, if I add anyone to any one of these groups, then they will only have access to this subsite, no one else, so that is one of the other criteria on when you want to create a subsite.
