Navigation option is not available

Sometimes you will not see a navigation option under look and feel section in the site settings page of your SharePoint site.

You can see the Look and Feel section where we don't have the Navigation. To enable it we need to activate the publishing feature on the site.

Perform below steps to enable the publishing feature.

1. [Site settings] [site collection features] under site collection administration

Activate "SharePoint server Publishing Infrastructure" feature.

2. [Site settings] [manage site features] under site actions

Activate "SharePoint server publishing" feature.

After this you can verify Look and Feel section where you can see the navigation option enabled.

Some times you might perform the second step directly because of that you might error like

"The feature being activated is site scoped feature which has a dependency on a site collection scoped feature which has not been activated. Please activate the following feature before try again. SharePoint server Publishing Infrastructure "GUID"".

To avoid the above error you need to perform step 1.
