Once it's done, let’s learn..

How to Create content type:

Go to [Site settingsà click on site content types  under “Web designer Galleries”.

Enter all the required fields. See the below sample screenshot for reference.

Once You create it, it will show the below screen.

Now Click on “Add from existing site columns” link on the page. Select all the required columns and add to the content type. Once columns have been added, then It's time to the content type that we have created now.

Create a list using content types:

We will create a list and which will use the above content Type of the metadata which will get stored in the list.

You can use this article to create a list using OOB feature.

To Create a list, Click on Site contents [add an app]

Here we are creating a list called Ticket Details to store the ticketing related information.

Go to [List Settings][Advanced settings] Select “Yes” under  Allow management of content types.

Now you will observe under Content Types section in the list settings.

You click on “Allow from existing site content types”.

Select the content type which you have created and add it.

To make your list use the newly created content type as the The default one, Please click on “Change new button order and default content type”. Set “Position from Top” is 1 for the newly created one, so whenever a user will click to add new Item the first and default content type will be available will be “Ticketing system CT”.

Conclusion:

You have seen how to create a content type using site columns created in the site.
